Glycerol monostearate chemical known as single-18 (alkyl) acid glycerol ester (Glycerin monostearate), referred to as Monoglyceride (GMS), molecular weight 358. Industrial products are usually tasteless, odorless, nontoxic pale yellow wax-like solid or sheet containing a small amount of two and three acetate esters.

Monoglycerides in the plastic industry, mainly used as release agent, plasticizer, antistatic agent, especially suitable for plastic foam products, anti-shrinkage agents. In the production of PVC products as an internal lubricant, and can be used as alkyd resin modifier, plasticizer of cellulose nitrate. In the agricultural production of major films are, monoglyceride is the main raw material flow drops.

As a textile printing and dyeing auxiliary, monoglyceride is the best anti-discoloration and fabric softener; in compound lead salt stabilizer is indispensable lubricant; it is an effective defoamer soybean processing; and can be used as latex synthetic paraffin wax dispersion agent and co-agent.

Monoglycerides HLB value of 3.6-4.0, is oil-soluble non-ionic surfactant. As emulsifier, dispersant, emulsion stabilizer and thickening agent widely used in flavor, spices, food, skin fat, cream, hair cream, shampoo, medicine and other emulsion.
