scientists believe that niobium is higher in the entire earth, but
mainly concentrates in the core because of its high density.</span> <span class="" style="font-size:16px;">Niobium does not appear in nature as a pure state, but rather combines with other elements to form minerals.</span> <span class="" style="font-size:16px;">These
minerals generally also contain tantalum elements, such as ferrite (ie,
Fe (Fe, Mn) (Nb, Ta) 2O6) and columbite (Fe, Mn) (Ta, Nb) 2O6.</span><span style="font-size:16px;"> Minerals containing niobium and tantalum are often secondary minerals in pegmatites and alkaline intrusive rocks. </span><span class="" style="font-size:16px;">Other
minerals include calcium, uranium and thorium as well as rare earth
niobates such as pyrochlore (Na, Ca) 2Nb2O6 (OH, F) and black lean gold
(Y, Ca, Ce, U, Th</span><span style="font-size:16px;"> ) (Nb, Ta, Ti) 2O6) and the like. </span><span class="" style="font-size:16px;">These
large-scale niobium deposits occur near carbonate rocks, a type of
carbonate and silicate igneous rock, and are also a component of
pyrochlore.</span></span>
