Composition<br />

Description<br />
Neomycin is an antibiotic from the aminoglycoside group with bactericidal activity. It can be easily dissolved<br />
in water and stay in a stable solution. It is poorly absorbed from the intestinal tract into the circulatory system.<br />
In a low dose it acts bacteriostatic.<br />
Indications<br />
Neomycin sulphate is effective against various bacteria causing enteritis and mastitis like Streptococci,<br />
Staphylococci, Echerichia coli, Salmonella, Campylobacter, Actinobacillus, Listeria and Proteus. Neomycin<br />
sulphate can be combined with other antibiotics (oxytetracycline, colistin and penicillin).<br />
Contra-indications<br />
Do not administer to animals with kidney and/or liver dysfunctions. Do not administer to pregnant animals,<br />
adult ruminants, layers producing eggs for human consumption.<br />
Side-effects<br />
Neomycin allergy can be noticed. Sense of hearing and equilibrium can be affected. In overdosing and in<br />
newborns it is nefro-toxic and neuro-muscular blockage can be seen. After long-term treatment,<br />
complications may occur due to vitamin B and K deficiencies, which are caused by disturbances in the<br />
microbiological digestion.<br />
Precaution<br />
Avoid direct contact with skin and mucosa, wear protective gloves and face-mask during handling.<br />
Dosage and administration<br />
For oral administration via feed or drinking water.<br />
Calves, pigs, poultry : 10 mg per kg bodyweight daily, during 3 - 5 days.<br />
Foals : 10 - 15 mg per kg bodyweight daily, during 3 - 5 days.<br />
The daily dosage should be divided into 2 - 4 administrations, so repeat every 6 - 12 hours.<br />
Mixed with feed, the product should be used immediately. Medicated drinking water should be used within 24<br />
hours.<br />
Withdrawal period<br />
Meat: Calves, pigs : 21 days<br />
Poultry : 7 days<br />
Storage<br />
Store in a dry, dark place between 2 °C and 25 °C.<br />
Store in closed packing.<br />
Keep medicine away from children.<br />

PE-Pharma jar of 500 / 1,000 g (12 jars per box).<br />
Bucket of 3 / 5 kg.<br />
Container of 25 kg.<br />
